Physician Assistant William Kohler graduated from the US Air Force school of Health Care Sciences in 1975. He then did his internship at Naval Hospital Charleston S.C., graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1977. Prior to that, he served as a navy corpsman both at naval hospitals and with the Marines.
Following his graduation from PA training, PA Kohler was stationed in Ballston Spa, NY; Virginia Beach, VA; Newport, RI; and Camp Pendleton, CA. He retired from the Navy, returning to the Capital District in 1988. He then worked for Community Health Plan in their General Surgery Department until it became Kaiser Permanente, and finally Community Care Physicians.
Some may then remember PA Kohler working with Dr. Oldendorf in his office on Washington Avenue from 2001 to 2009. He then went to work at Albany Memorial Hospital from 2009 until 2015, at which time he retired, until being called out of retirement late in 2017 to help out in our present office.
Presently PA Kohler is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Army Physician Assistants, and is an Emeritus PA from the National Academy of Physician Assistants.
